What is the difference between PA and PA/VA?

A PA system handles announcements and background music; a PA/VA (voice alarm) system additionally meets voice-evacuation requirements and integrates with the fire alarm to deliver automatic emergency messages.

Can the PA play background music and still handle paging?

Yes. We distribute background music and paging with priority so live pages and emergency messages override music automatically.

How do you ensure announcements are intelligible?

We design speaker type and placement acoustically for each space and verify performance with sound-level measurement at commissioning.

Public Address System (PA)

Zoned announcement, background music and emergency voice communication.

When an announcement has to be heard and understood — a routine page or an emergency evacuation message — intelligibility is everything. Strock Energy designs and installs PA and PA/VA (voice alarm) systems built around acoustics: zoned amplifier racks, mixers and call stations feeding the right speakers for each space, from ceiling and wall units to horns, columns and outdoor arrays. We handle background music and paging distribution, and integrate automatic emergency message triggering from the fire alarm panel so voice evacuation happens without hesitation. Speaker layouts are designed for clarity, then tested and sound-level measured at commissioning, so every zone gets a clear, appropriately loud and intelligible message.
